Practicum Opportunities
At Family of Hands, we welcome you to join us from Practicum to Residency. Join us on your journey to obtain your LPC license from start to finish. The educational track with Family of Hands will allow you to prepare to become a fully licensed professional counselor under the direct supervision of our board-certified supervisor, Camilla McCoy.
Internship Opportunities
Family of Hands offers onsite internship experiences for graduate students in counseling and social work. Internship is a requirement for a CACREP accredited or approved graduate education and also is a requirement by the Virginia Board of Counseling to receive an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) designation. Internships are also available to those pursuing an undergraduate psychology degree.
Residency
Be fully prepared to be the best qualified mental health professional you can be with a hands-on residency at Family of Hands. Residency at Family of Hands means having a board-approved supervisor and personal hands-on case consultation with all your cases. Your supervisor will guide and mentor you throughout the process, providing plenty of feedback to help you learn and grow in your role as a counselor. There’s also plenty of opportunities for outpatient counseling work. Because of the unique aspect of Residency at Family of Hands, you will never feel alone.
