What is Telehealth Counseling?

It’s a new way of experiencing therapy. Telehealth mental health counseling uses video technology through the internet to connect therapists and clients. It’s an excellent option for those without access to transportation or those who cannot leave their homes easily to participate in traditional in-office therapy sessions.

How Does it Work?

Telehealth counseling sessions work much like in-person sessions. First, call the Family of Hands Office to schedule an appointment with one of our therapists. After scheduling a telehealth appointment,  we’ll send you a HIPAA-compliant link (a special URL that’s set up for maximum privacy and meets HIPAA requirements). During your appointment time, you log in through the link from the privacy of your home to “meet” virtually with your counselor.

Who Benefits from
Telehealth Therapy?

Telehealth mental health counseling provides those with limited access to transportation or limited mobility the opportunity to benefit from therapy. Agoraphobic people, shut-ins, caregivers, and senior citizens may all find the convenience of engaging in therapy from home worthwhile.
