Camilla McCoy

Camilla McCoy, LPC (CEO)

Camilla McCoy grew up in Chatham, VA. An alumna of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College and Lynchburg College, she returned to her hometown in 2007 to begin supporting and healing the community through counseling. Camilla has a passion for working with individuals whose lives have been disrupted by loss, trauma, and ruptured relationships. Camilla believes the pathway to healing begins in the context of a safe and secure relationship.  Camilla is the CEO at Family of Hands and therefore had the privilege of creating a work culture and environment that understands the importance of relationships and is committed to helping children, individuals, and families in the community Live. Heal. Belong.  Outside of Family of Hands, Camilla enjoys watching her daughter dance, reading, exercising, and attending Broadway shows with her family.

Jada Clark

Licensed Professional Counselor

Jada Clark obtained her Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Longwood University and is currently a Resident in Counseling. Jada has experience working with adults, children, adolescents, and families whose lives have been disrupted by changes in their interpersonal relationships and trauma. Jada holds a certificate in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and is a registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator. During Jada’s free time, she enjoys being with her family and listening to podcasts.

Berkley graduated from Walden University in 2022 with her Masters in Mental Health Counseling. Berkley’s goal has been to intertwine her love for people and horses and to watch the healing power of animals in people’s lives. She is currently working towards a certification in Animal Assisted Therapy. Berkley believes in the strong nature of relationships and understands the importance and value of forming strong, trusting relationships with her clients. Berkley has experience working with families, adolescents, and adults in residential and outpatient settings. Berkley is a family orientated person & spends most of her time with her family when she is not working.

After 10 years working in the veterinary field, Stephanie joined the Family of Hands team in 2022 to continue her desire to help people. Stephanie is the welcoming face to the clients we serve & has become a huge asset to our team. She is a Danville native that outside of work, enjoys spending time with her family, baking, going to concerts, and reading.

Hi, I am Josh Keller. I am from the Danville-Pittsylvania county area. Fun facts about me. I love to learn and I love to ride motorcycles. I have experience working with all ages in both the mental health and addiction fields. I am a graduate of Liberty University and a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia. At Family of Hands, I have the privilege of seeing individuals and families for counseling sessions, facilitating groups, training staff and interns, as well as offering training and consultation services to the community. I have focused my education on understanding the effects of adversity and ruptured relationships on human development. I believe we have the opportunity and responsibility to make our home a better place. At Family of Hands, we look forward to helping our community live, heal, and belong.

Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor

I have been working with adolescents and young adults for over 30 years. I began my journey as a camp counselor and have worked in various capacities including youth minister and middle and high school teacher. I have completed over 175 expeditions as a therapeutic wilderness guide. While working as a wilderness guide, I was challenged to get my master’s degree and become a therapist. I received my master’s degree from Liberty University and am now a licensed substance abuse therapist in both Virginia and North Carolina. I also work with couples as a marriage counselor. I have experience facilitating groups and individual counseling and have been the program director for several treatment facilities. I enjoy sharing my love of nature with others and can often be found in the woods or riding my motorcycle with family and friends.

Jenna Keys

Resident in Counseling

Jenna Keys graduated from James Madison University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, and accompanying minors in English and Substance Abuse Education. She then completed her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Northwestern University in 2021. Jenna is currently a Resident in Counseling, and has been with Family of Hands since July 2020. She has had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in the Danville community. Jenna utilizes a range of therapeutic approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed approaches, attachment-oriented approaches, and therapeutic play for child clients. She is a registered Circle of Security Parenting facilitator, which equips her with tools to help parents better identify and meet their children’s needs. Jenna values working with individuals to help them recover from trauma and pain, develop meaningful direction in their lives, and become healthier versions of themselves. Outside of the therapy room, she enjoys going to concerts, cooking, learning trivia, and spending time with animals.

Bevin Lovelace

Bevin is a native of the Danville/Pittsylvania County area and a proud alumna of Virginia Tech and Longwood University. She is the mom of 3 and enjoys supporting them in all they do. Bevin also loves music, going to concerts, and spending time with family and friends. Bevin is passionate about supporting her community through her work as a Licensed Professional Counselor. She believes that everyone deserves to be heard and offers a safe space for individuals to express themselves. Bevin works with youth, adolescents, adults, and families and offers a variety of therapeutic approaches to promote overall wellness. Bevin fosters hope and empowers individuals to utilize learned strategies to heal and grow.

Office Manager

Stephanie earned her Associates of Arts & Science degree in 2016 from Danville Community College. She went on to pursue her undergraduate degree with Old Dominion University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 2018 majoring in human services.  Stephanie is a Pittsylvania County native with a strong desire to assist the local and surrounding communities with accessing the supports and services needed to foster resilience and to promote healing. As a highly compassionate individual, Stephanie finds fulfillment in being able to witness the positive change and growth within the population we serve. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys spending time with her family and connecting with nature through plants and hiking. She also has a passion for art and spends her free time sketching and painting for fun.

Nell Mays

Resident in Counseling

Nell Mays completed her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from Liberty University and is currently a Resident in Counseling. Nell has been with Family of Hands since August 2023, working with children, adolescents, adults and families. Nell is passionate about creating a safe and nonjudgmental space where individuals can navigate life’s challenges and work toward emotional wellness. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, attachment-based methods and trauma-informed approaches. Nell grew up in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, and her ideal day includes a hike with her dogs.

Nikeita graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science in Premedical Psychology and a Master of Arts in Counseling. Nikeita is driven by a desire to empower individuals to heal, grow, and achieve balance. Nikeita enjoys spending time with her family and friends and being active in several professional and social organizations.

Administration & IT Support

Jalisa Owens is a U.S. Army Veteran with a master’s degree in Information Systems. Fun fact, she is also Camilla’s youngest sister. She moved back home to be closer to her family and to support her sister’s dream. Jalisa has worked in residential facilities with adolescents and adults. She enjoys bringing joy to residents and clients. According to Jalisa, everyone has a smile right around the corner. When she is not at work, she is making memories with her family and catering events in her community.

Cindy obtained her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University in 2017 and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Her journey in the mental health field began in Brazil in 1995 where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.  Since then, she has had the opportunity to focus on different areas within the mental health field.  She has a passion for helping people and believes that therapy is a powerful tool to unleash one’s potential.  Cindy loves her family, her dogs, and traveling.

Dominique Shamberger

Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Dominique Shamberger grew up in Axton, VA. She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she obtained a Bachelors in Sociology and a Masters in Social Work. Dominique has focused on the impact environment has on the actions and behaviors of people. Dominique is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing along with being certified in other trauma informed approaches such as COSP (Circle of Security Parenting). Dominique enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. Dominique is passionate about people. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and advocating for mental health and social work.

Kimberly Wormuth

Licensed Professional Counselor

Kim Wormuth earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Virginia Wesleyan College and her Master’s Degree in Counseling at Regent University. She has been licensed as a Professional Counselor since 2000.  Kim has lived most of her life in Danville/Pittsylvania County and is grateful for her college, training, and work experiences as well as for every child, teen, adult, couple, and family she has had the opportunity to work with over the last nearly 30 years, believing the combination of these experiences has grown her into the counselor you meet today. She is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and like many providers at Family of Hands, she is a registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator. Kim draws from multiple therapeutic approaches and deeply believes that people arrive in therapy doing their best work as their most authentic selves in the context of a safe and secure therapeutic relationship. She loves spending time with her family and fur babies, listening to music, watching a good movie or series (recommendations accepted), and taking trips to the mountains, and she hopes one day to travel.
